- They serve as a coupling element between the rack base and the lower tubular extension, providing additional stiffness to the tubular assembly
- The applied forces and moments are distributed across two additional mounting points on both the right and left sides
- The shape of the supplementary bars also contributes to the elastic reduction of peak loads
- The extra protection enhances passive safety and reduces the risk of injury to the rider's lower legs in the event of a fall
