Our tank protection bar extension completes the protection for the flanks of the Adventure, reinforcing and perfecting it. This addition to the tight series standard tank protection bar on the R 1250 GS Adventure not only reliably protects the tank but the body too. It also gives the Adventure a striking and unique look.
The bar is made from 25 mm-thick precision stainless steel pipe. We use the top attachments on the bar so that they follow the shape of the tank protection bar in a line and thus avoid it becoming wider or protruding.

The harmoniously designed aluminium plating forms a triangle in the space between our reinforcement bar 41873-200 and the Adventure tank protection bar, making sure not to cover up the BMW brand emblem on the tank. The technical aesthetics emphasise the structure of the protection bar and also incidentally add to structural stability. You can order it separately in black (item no. 41874-102) or silver (item no. 41874-101).
Recommendation:
We also recommend the additional reinforcement bar 41873-210 between the tank protection bar and the original engine protection bar for additional reinforcement and absorbing forces in the event of a crash.
